Middleton Building

A six story reinforced concrete and masonry building built for clothing manufacturer, J E Friend. It was built to replace the building destroyed by fire on Friday, March 24, 1911. The fire claimed the lives of five firemen when the roof collapsed. The new building was finished in a unique terra cotta that imitated the texture and coloring of granite.
