Monday Milwaukee Mystery - February 8, 2010

Postby Yance » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:46 am

Welcome to another Monday! Today's picture shows Johnson Tire Service which was located downtown until the mid 1950's. We are looking south and there are a row of older buildings in the background including one with a sign saying "Philco". None of these buildings are there anymore except the one far in the background with the sign on the roof.

What is your best guess??

Broadway and Kilbourn, I'm fairly certain.

That would make this the future site of the Zeidler building, and the roof-signed building the future 809 Broadway building.

So Chris,

HOW did you arrive at that correct answer? You're not old like me to have heard stories about what was where, or do you have an OLD source?

Good Job!

Theory 1.
I happened to up early, and feeling extra competitive.
Yance has been generous with the clues, which helped tremendously.

Theory 2.
I'm possessed by the ghost of Frank Zeidler.

Theory 2 sounds plausible! Good job!
